He was the son of the powerful goddess of the night, who goes by the name of Nyx. He is known as the god of sleep in Greek mythology. Hypnos is perceived as a calm and gentle god. He and his sons appeared in the dreams of mere mortals but also brought prophecies to the most well known prophets of the time. Also, he would literally serve the people their dreams if he felt this to be appropriate. Living in a dark cave in the underworld, Hypnos made his appearances in the night to let the people of ancient Greece sleep. The story of Hypnos signifies perceptions of life and death, the underworld, and the normal world. Actually, they believed the relationship between sleep and death was even closer than just mere cousins. The ancient Greeks might’ve liked Nas for just this line alone. One of the most memorable lines on his debut album tells us that he ‘never sleeps, cause sleep is the cousin of death’. Fast forward 28 years and Nas is one of the most influential rappers, or artists, of all time, winning himself a grammy just two years ago. The final heart on Hypnos' affinity gauge will then unlock, allowing the player to gift him ambrosia and maximize their bond.In 1994, a New York rapper by the name of Nas burst into the hip hop scene with the release of his debut album Illmatic. Speak to Hypnos one last time, and he will thank Zagreus for his help. Eventually, though, the two appear to come up with a method to help increase Hypnos' efficiency, and Thanatos ends up praising his improvement. At this point, there's not much left for the player to do other than wait for the dialogue to exhaust and watch the scenario play out. Once the two of them have this conversation, the player will occasionally come across the two sons of Nyx speaking to each other in the House of Hades.
Zag, being close to the embodiment of Death, will agree to speak to Thanatos on Hypnos' behalf. Once the above requirements are met, Hypnos will eventually reveal to Zagreus that a conversation with his brother Thanatos has made him feel as though the latter is displeased with his work.
